Your Lean Body Mass is the weight of your muscle, bone, organ tissue, blood and everything other than your body fat. It is important to maintain your lean body mass, and any weight loss target below this is not only unrealistic, but would indicate starvation. However we all have a biological requirement for some body fat and this too must be accounted for when setting target weights. An acceptable target weight would be 25 – 31 % higher than your lean body mass for woman and 18 – 25 % higher for men.
