Women can regain their pre-pregnancy figure, although they should expect it to take about nine months from the time they give birth.

That is according to celebrity fitness trainer Steve Halsall, who has suggested that women need to rebuild their fitness levels by exercising regularly for short periods.

He said: "It's all about routine and consistency and then over time energy levels rise ... I am a great believer in little and often [and that] will add up."

Mr Halsall stressed that it was easier for a person to shape up post-pregnancy if they kept themselves in good physical condition before they had a baby.

Research by MyVoucherCodes.co.uk revealed that the biggest concern for women following pregnancy was that they may gain weight.

The same survey revealed that a third of women who said they did not plan to have children made the decision based on the fact they were concerned pregnancy would ruin their figure.ADNFCR-858-ID-800051410-ADNFCR
