A good fitness regime is vital for achieving steady weight loss, but keeping motivated can be a problem especially in cold winter months.

Michelle Cleomons, a practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and author of Transforming Stress to Success, suggests writing down what physical activities you enjoy, such as "walking the dog, playing with the kids, pottering around the garden, [or] going dancing".

That way you won't think of it as part of your weight loss programme, and you'll never have to use the word 'exercise', which is easy to associate with obligation and guilt.

"Avoid thinking about the word … as it puts up a psychological barrier for many of us," Michelle explains.

Not only will this help you on your way to your weight loss goals, but it'll also relive stress and make you feel better overall, which can have a positive effect on your future levels of anxiety and depression, researchers at Virginia Commonwealth University have discovered.ADNFCR-858-ID-800755634-ADNFCR
