Losing weight means 'eating less and fewer fat and carbs'
That is according to Dr Hilary Jones, spokesperson for the Tena Men: Time to Tackle Your Health Campaign, who has suggested that people current eat too much.
He said: "We just need to have smaller portions with less carbohydrates, less saturated fat and exercise a bit more. It really isn't rocket science; this is possible."
Dr Jones said that consumers currently have too much access to fast food and are eating "very energy dense food" that they are not burning off.
As long as people are able to motivate themselves, they should be able to reach their weight loss goals, he has suggested.
His comments come in the wake of research by Tena Men, which has revealed that, as they age, men are becoming increasingly concerned about their health.
