Psychologist warns food important for socialising and nutrition
That is according to Mark Millard, psychologist and founder of WellbeingWizard.com, who has suggested that food is important to nourish body and mind, and also as a way to interact socially with colleagues.
He said: "Food is ritual - it is that coming together, eating together, being together, the vibe that you get, the way people interact – rather than sat on your own at a desk with a sad sandwich."
Mr Millard suggested that it is important for employees to be physically fit as it will help them to perform better at work.
His comments follow a survey, which was commissioned by the healthcare charity Nuffield Health, showing that 32 per cent of employees in the capital have bosses who begrudge them taking a lunch break.
