I beat the late night bingeing and lost 3 stone!

A few trips to hospital due to difficulty breathing, and an order from his doctor to lose weight were what prompted John to join our online weight loss programme.

When he registered with us, John weighed in at a hefty 15 stone 3 lbs, and a BMI of 32 which meant that he was at increased risk of obesity related diseases, such as diabetes and heart disease. After only 5 months of following a weight loss plan, John has lost an amazing 3 stone 1 lb giving him a new weight of 12 stone 2 lbs and a much healthier BMI of 26.

“I joined up because I needed an organised diet plan after being told by my doctor that I had to lose weight. My wife was very supportive and joined in, following the diet plan with me.”

Before embarking on his new healthy eating programme, John’s diet had been high in fat and unbalanced. “I loved pork pies and chips – I still do! I always had full plates at meal times and ice-cream for dessert. My diet is now much healthier and tastes better. I have smaller portions and no ice-cream. I know I can still enjoy foods like chips and ice-cream on special occasions, but I won’t go overboard.”

“I used to snack a lot after my main meal in the evenings – I would actually eat more food then than I had during that day. Now, thanks to the types of food I am eating, I feel full and satisfied all the time, and don’t feel the need to snack late at night.”

Exercise also played a major part in John’s success. “I was supervised by the physiotherapy department at the local hospital. I am now much fitter than before and I feel fit, which is fantastic. I’ve lost 4 inches off my waist as well as all the weight. My clothes fit much better as a result.”

John’s family and friends are really pleased to see him looking so well and moving about with such ease. But they’re not as pleased as John himself! “I’m delighted now to be at a weight that suits me. I feel that it has been well worth the effort.”

“I’m confident that I will be able to maintain my weight. I intend keeping a close eye on it and if it starts to creep back on again, I will know what to do to lose it.”
