Improved health with over 4 stone loss
With her BMI in the obese category Sharon’s self-confidence was at an all time low and her health was suffering. When she saw our online dieting site advertised in a magazine she decided she couldn’t stand “being fat anymore” and joined up to our Light choices plan. A year later she has managed to lose 4 stone 4lbs, has reached a BMI of 26 and is brimming with energy and self-confidence.
Here is Sharon’s story…
How much weight have you lost? I was 15stone 3lb and a size 22 when I joined and now I am 11 stone and a size 14. I have lost 10 inches off my waist and 7 inches off my bust.
Has your family been supportive to you in your weight loss efforts? My husband and 2 girls have been very supportive!
Have you previously tried any other diets and were they successful? I have tried very low fat and low calorie diets and they were not successful as I had no willpower while following them.
What part has exercise played in helping you to lose weight? Lots of walking and using the Wii fit has helped.
Was your weight causing you any problems? Aches in my legs, shortness of breath due to my asthma and a lack of self-confidence.
What difference has losing weight made to you? More confidence, more energy and I can buy nice clothes I like.
Have you enjoyed your diet plan? Yes I love the diet and I like the meal plans because I don’t have to think about calories and fat as it is all done for me.
Tell us about your diet before you joined us, and how has your diet changed as a result? Before, I didn’t eat any breakfast, I used to snack on chocolates and crisps and my portion sizes for meals were too big. I now eat breakfast and stick to the diet plan. I find I cannot eat as much as I used to and I have cut down on alcohol.
How have your family and friends reacted to your weight loss? Surprised and pleased that I feel more confident with myself and they say that I look much better.
How do you feel about your weight loss? I feel great that I have managed to stick to a diet as I have never been able to stick to one before. I now wear tight fitting clothes, I’m a lot healthier, my asthma is a lot better, my legs don’t ache and I have a lot more energy.
Do you feel confident about maintaining your weight loss? Yes and if I do worry in the future I have saved all my meal plans.
Any hints or tips you would like to give those struggling with their weight? If you feel hungry drink water and find something to do to keep yourself busy.
