Over 3 stone loss with the Gi plan
Pat's previous sole attempts at weight loss had resulted in her piling on any weight she lost and reaching a BMI of 33. So it came to the point where she gave herself a good talking to and joined up to our online dieting site. 7 months later she has lost 3 stone 8lbs, has a healthy BMI of 25 and is brimming with energy and confidence!
Here is Pat's story....
What diet plan did you follow? The GI diet.
Has your family been supportive to you in your weight loss efforts? Yes, my husband has been very supportive and complimentary. He makes his own breakfasts and lunches so I can concentrate on mine.
What weight were you before you joined us, and what is your current weight? I was 14st 4lbs and a size 18- 20 when I joined. I am now 10 stone 10lbs and have lost around 3-4 inches around my waist. My arms and legs are also much slimmer.
What made you decide to join us? I started to think that obesity was ugly and dangerous, so I wanted to lose weight but in the privacy of my own home.
What part has exercise played in helping you to lose weight? I was losing weight before I started exercising, but going to the gym has helped and made me feel better about myself.
What difference has losing weight made to you? I am more confident, sexier, fitter and have more energy.
Tell us about your diet before you joined us, and how has your diet changed as a result? Before, I was generally overeating. I would usually have a piece of cake after lunch and I might have biscuits or ice cream in between meals for snacks. For my evening meals I would have pasta or rice but in much larger amounts. I used to eat lots of meat but very little fish and always a pudding after my dinner! Now I eat more fresh foods and fish and I find the Gi diet filling and satisfying.
How do you feel about your weight loss? I am thrilled and I don’t need to hide my new figure under ‘big’ clothes anymore.
Finally, a tip for fellow dieters out there…..
Spend time assembling the ingredients for meals, making the meal and then eating it. I find the preparation gets the juices flowing as I start digesting with my eyes. The whole process is slower and I also eat my food slowly. All of this helps me to have more control over the types of food I am eating and the amounts.
