Rachel improves her health with the Spring Fresh diet plan

After having 4 children and letting herself get a little out of shape, Rachel developed high blood pressure. This frightened her as she was still a young woman and considered herself to be relatively fit. With the online diet plans, Rachel lost 2 stone 1 lb and dropped to a slim size 10.

Here she tells us her story…

What made you decide to join us?
I went to the doctors and she took my blood pressure. It was high, so she weighed me. I was shocked to find my weight had crept up. I was just about fitting into a size 12. I felt that losing some weight might help lower my blood pressure and help me to regain my body after 4 children.

Tell us about your diet before you joined us?
It wasn’t particularly unhealthy, just too much. My portions had crept up to the same size as my husbands and he does a physical job. Also I’m always hungry when I come in from work. I used to eat toast and honey. Now I’ll have a banana or crackers and hummus instead.

Was your weight causing you any problems?
I felt quite frumpy and mumsy.

What difference has losing weight made to you?
I am so confident and it is like I am back to being an individual, not just a mum.

Have you enjoyed the online diet plan?
The success stories were great. Reading that other people had managed to lose weight really helped me to feel like I could too. Being able to weigh in online meant I could fit weight loss into a busy lifestyle – no excuses not to do it.

How do you feel about your weight loss?
Before I lost weight my husband said I looked great for someone with 4 children. Now I look great and people don’t know I’ve had 4 kids. I also bought loads of new clothes to show off my new figure and help me feel more confident.

Do you feel confident about maintaining your weight loss?
I reached my initial target nearly a year ago. I reduced it by a couple of pounds about 6 months ago. If I find that a couple of pounds creep on, I can usually shift them by upping the exercise or checking my portion sizes. I don’t fret about it too much.

Any other information you would like to give?
Don’t cut out all treats or family traditions. We have a roast every Sunday and I always eat it, but change the balance of the food on my plate. I also still have pain au chocolat and coffee for breakfast on a Sunday. If I could lose weight and keep the treats I thought I would have a better chance of keeping it off.
