Sharon waves goodbye to her bad habits!
Sharon could write a book on 'How not to diet’. She really has tried them all…from faddy diets to supposedly healthy eating plans but found the results disappointing and short lived.
“I am so embarrassed to name all of the diets I tried over the years, I bought one book written by a well known weight loss guru, but had to banish it to the shelf once I saw the awful meals it consisted of.”
Since quitting smoking 3 years ago she noticed a steady increase in her weight, at her heaviest Sharon weighed 13 stone 5 lbs. Although her weight loss attempts were nothing short of disappointing she remained motivated and positive.
In January she spotted our online weight loss programme and with more than a few misgivings Sharon decided to give ‘yet another’ diet a chance.
“My self esteem was so low and I had an immense dislike of my ‘unsightly body’. I hated hiding behind bulky clothes but I still refused to take my clothes off and get into a bathing costume when we were on holiday (which was the hottest summer ever). I was so self conscious and had no confidence in my appearance.”
With the online Healthy eating plan she lost 2 stone and now has a much healthier BMI of 24.
This weight loss has signified a new beginning for Sharon, her self image is more positive and she has higher energy levels than ever before.
“I am able to wear jeans and tops that just cover the top of my jeans without worrying that my fat, white, flabby tummy will be exposed to the masses! I just feel like a nicer person because of the goal I have reached. There is a new spring in my step!”
Previously, her diet consisted of the wrong kinds of foods in the incorrect amounts. Sharon also made the cardinal sin of excluding fruit and vegetables from her diet.
With the guidance and readily available help that was available to her Sharon managed to break the bad habits that had hindered her weight loss in the past and she developed a new healthy eating regime that was easy to follow and maintain.
“The most important lesson I have gained from the online Healthy eating plan is how to eat correctly, and the importance of controlling portion sizes. I have followed the plan as avidly as possible; I drink my 2 litres of water per day and tailor the meal plan so that I am getting the meals I like.”
Of course Sharon has no hesitation in admitting she could not have come so far without the support of her family and the support groups.
“The support groups are fantastic and give me such a boost. Sometimes it feels like a race to see who loses the weight most quickly!”
Without a doubt the regular exercise she gets has been a vital part of her success. Don’t be surprised if Sharon is competing in the next Olympics!
“I walk for five to seven miles per day. My partner bought me a newspaper subscription in order to force me to walk up to the village centre and so gradually from that point I have added more and more mileage, coincidentally my fitness levels are continuing to increase. Now I comfortably walk every morning and most afternoons as well. I also use my pedometer to ensure I am doing in excess of 15,000 steps per day.”
Sharon is really positive that she can overcome any obstacles that come between her and the maintenance of her new healthy lifestyle.
“I know how much hard work has gone into this achievement and I will never let myself return to the old ways. When you feel and look fantastic, I think you would be a fool to slide back to your old way of life.”
