Orla Mitchell
Hi my name is Orla I have worked with Tesco Diets for the last 4.5 years and I sometimes wonder where the time has gone, but it has been fantastic.
Whether it's helping people through tough patches, getting others back on track or simply giving a word of encouragement or a pat on the back, I love supporting our members.
It's great when members achieve their target weight, as I feel that I have helped somebody to make positive changes to their life. That's when you know all the hard work is worthwhile for the members.
I am single mum and before I started working here, I was worried about what my little girl Emma was eating. So I started the Gi plan and I found the plan helped us in so many ways, there's a great choice of food and Emma is not eating sugary and high-fat junk foods. As her mother, I was always worried about giving her the right foods. It's great to see my little girl eating healthy foods she can enjoy with me. I'm now an expert at planning our meals and doing the shopping on-line!
I have now reached my target weight of 9st 5lbs. Ive changed my plan to the Totals plan and I use what Ive learnt from the Gi plan, I can incorporate it into every day life and it works.
Debbie Morrissey
Hi my name's Debbie and I have been the Customer Service Manager at Tescodiets.com for 3.5 years and I have worked with the company for almost five years.
When I first started I followed the Gi plan as most people who come to work in the Customer Service Department do. I lost 9lbs and was delighted to see how I could really achieve great results, by just following the plan and adding a little exercise to my routine.
I walk for 45 minutes every weekday taking Molly my golden retriever with me and my husband John. Being organised and having my shopping delivered, makes things much easier as I would usually tend to buy chocolate for my kids and end up tucking into it myself..
I really love cooking and spend a lot of my time at the weekends in the kitchen, making meals for my family with my husband, who is also a keen cook.
There's a great atmosphere in the office with the Customer Service team and the highlight of it all is when you read the success stores and see the before and after photos which are sent in.
Another great aspect of our job is that we really get to know you all, very well and go through your weight loss journeys with you which is absolutely fantastic.
Lisa Farrell
My name is Lisa Farrell and I have been working for Tescodiets for 3 years. Working for here has given me an opportunity to get to know so many people in so many places from the UK to the USA.
I love coming in each day and hearing from all of our member's. I have to say, we have been so lucky to have so many wonderful people following our plans and I do hope that you enjoy yours.
I have to admit I'm not one for much exercise but the best thing that I have come across as Im sure a lot of you would agree is the Wii. It is so handy to have, and all of the family can get involved while keeping fit. How fantastic is that?
I just want to take this time to say thank you, to all of our members and to all of our success stories that we have had on the site. It really is amazing just to see how well you can do.. To anyone who is thinking about signing up, can I just say that all the success stories on the site were once like you, so if they can do it, you can to! I hope to hear from you all soon.
Nicola MacMahon
Hi my name is Nicola; I live in Dublin - born and bred Irish lass. I have worked for Tesco Diets 6 years in April 2011 and Im still enjoying every minute of it. I love helping our members motivating, supporting and encouraging all of you any way I can and getting to know you all.
I am in contact with a lot of our members through weigh in comments and emails some of you probably know a lot about me already. And a lot of you have kindly invited to me to your meet ups, which I really appreciate, but unfortunately the timing has been bad and I have not been able to go maybe one day in the future.
I do my best to eat healthy, drink loads of water, lots of vegetables and salads in the day, porridges in the morning. Like everyone I have my off days where I will have that bit of choc, but I do try not to and if I slip up, I put it behind me and start all over again. Try not to feel guilty about it and know that tomorrow is a new day :- )
Rachael Baldwin
Hi there my name is Rachael. So to start off, I've been working for Tesco Diets Customer Service for nearly 4 years now and long may it continue! I've worked in a few different jobs over the years, a popular Irish food and clothing company, an Insurance brokers and also and also an Occupational Therapist as a receptionist and administrator. I have enjoyed all of these jobs, as each occupation has been different in numerous ways, so I was constantly learning about Customer Service through the years. I believe I was supposed to work here at some point in my life, because in 2009 I was diagnosed with Coeliac Disease. This was quite a shock to take in, considering I was only 25 at the time. It's also been great, being able to help members and my colleagues understand this condition, the way I have to. Plus I can speak to members who have the same condition and swap notes and tips with them and I've got a nutrition team at my fingertips if I'm not sure about something which is a bonus.
I love hearing back from you, our members, to see how you are getting on with your weight each week. Its always nice to receive the lovely feedback from you to, as it makes me feel that I'm really helping you through this weight loss journey. Personally, some of these emails have really made my day, so I would like to thank all of you that have sent me some lovely feedback. I've now lost count of how many members I've asked to become Success Stories and they just keep coming which is fantastic!! Congratulations to all of our members who have become success stories and also to everyone that is striving to get back to a healthy weight again good for you and best of luck!!
I'd like to say what a great idea I think this profile is. Each week we hear back from you and get to know you all, yet you don't know very much about us. Hopefully these profiles will change that and you can put a personality to the name at the end of your email replies. So to finish off, I would like to say a big thank you to you all, for making my job inspiring, motivating and a happy place to work. Keep up your hard work and determination and you will get there and achieve a New You too!!
Lynne Kavanagh
My name is Lynne. I've been with Tescodiets for 5 years. Since I began here I've been working on trying to eat more healthily and keeping that up! I go to the gym a few times a week and I feel guilty when I haven't been so it must be working!
I love playing the Wii too, keeps me ticking over when I can't make the gym...
It's fantastic to see so many members reach their goal weights and when we see the amazing before and after pictures we are sent, it really gives me that great job satisfaction feeling, to know that we're helping members reach their full potential and continue with a much healthier, happier lifestyle.
Amanda Walsh
Hi my Name is Mandy I am Assistant Manager in our Customer Services Department in Tesco diets.
My hobbies are eating out, sensibly of course, reading, playing squash and also having a nice lie in on my day off,, so I am a contradiction really, I am either dashing around or I am lazing around, there is no happy medium with me.
I have worked for Tesco diets now for nearly five years and really enjoy my job. We have a nice friendly office and I really enjoy supporting our members in their weight loss journey. I also enjoy cooking, eating and I could easily talk all day long about food (sometimes I do). I live very near to work which is fantastic; however my downfall is that I take the car when I could easily walk so I do not always practice what I preach.
I always believe that you are what you eat and one of my simple guidelines is if you eat badly you will feel badly, if you eat well you will feel well.
We do have office treats (you should see our counter when it is someone's birthday), so we are not robots of computers supporting you, we are real people and sometimes have bad days like everyone else. We are not here to chastise our members, but to genuinely help and support you, changing your attitude towards healthy eating.
Niamh Brogan
Hi my name is Niamh Brogan. I have been with Tesco Diets for nearly four years now and I love to help people. I am a very people person and all my jobs have been in relation to helping people.
I am now working with my best friends and I have to say, we have lots of fun in the office. We are a very social group.
I love my job and it has been very helpful to me as well, as I have used the diets on the site and I have lost weight as well.
I'm really looking forward to helping more people and I hope to continue in my role for a long time to come.
Ciara Bourke
Hi my name is Ciara. I'm 22 years old and I have been working for Tesco Diets for just over 3 years. I work part-time as I am also currently in my final year in college, studying Social Care. I generally like sports and exercising. I am a sailing instructor and play badminton.
I like working for Tesco Diets as it is diverse and always interesting. I am constantly learning new things from both our members and the rest of the customer service team. I like interacting with members and how they progress each week and gain confidence in themselves.
I am very interested in food and nutrition and like being able to try out new foods and recipes from the different diets. The very best of luck to all our members throughout their weight loss journey and I look forward to seeing how you get on.
Ciara Bourke
Lisa Carroll
Hi there! My name is Lisa and I work here at Tesco Diets part time. I recently celebrated my third year working here, and it's still really enjoyable! I am currently attending Dublin City University where I am in my 2nd year. I am studying Sport Science and Health, so working here is also helpful to my degree! I really enjoy trying to help out any of our member's with questions about fitness or exercise. Although I don't get out exercising a huge amount each week, I have recently bought a Wii fit and I am going to keep going with that.
I find it very rewarding keeping in touch with our members and seeing everyone making brilliant progress! It's great getting to know people during their time here.
John Coleman
Hello there everyone, I'm John Coleman and I have been working with Tesco Diets since 2010. I have an interest in fitness and diet and leading a healthy lifestyle. I have learnt a lot since I started working here and I like being able to pass on any tips and information that I have picked up from our members. I try my best to eat regular healthy meals and not to snack in between . I used to be terrible about eating between meals but thankfully I have cut that down a lot now. My main downfall is skipping breakfast because I do not give myself much time for this in the mornings. This is down to lack of preparation from the night before and is something I must improve on. I play Gaelic Football at a senior level, which is quite demanding and it is very important to eat the right foods at the right times and also to drink plenty of fluids, in order to maximize your ability. Thank you for reading my biography and always keep the faith.
John
Lisa Maher
Hi Everyone. My name is Lisa and I have been working with Tesco Diets for 4 years now. I am a mother of two young boys, Aaron (7) and baby Rhys (9 months). I have recently come back from maternity leave and I just love being back at work and in touch with our members.
I really enjoy working at Tesco Diets because not only do I get to help people by being here for them on their journey, but there is no better feeling than helping a member get to their goal weight. I love working with each and every member as each person has their own story and there own path to take.
I am looking forward to the years ahead as I will always have the passion and drive in me to keep members motivated. It makes my day seeing our members reach their goals, or even just losing a pound or two. There are lots of reasons I love my job, but the main one is our members.
Claire Foster
My name is Claire and I have been working at Tesco Diets for three years now. I started out working part time while I was in college, but since graduating in May 2010, I have been working full time.
I just moved out of home for the first time, so I have had to start cooking for myself, which I found to be bit of a nightmare at first, but Tesco Diets have proved that cooking doesn't have to be a chore. The plans are so simple and quick!
My favorite part of the job would have to be the weigh in comments we receive, it is a great feeling to know you are helping someone achieve their goal and potentially change their entire life. At the end of the day, we are all the same, we all want to look and feel better, so it is great that we can all support one another.
Jessica Mallerman
Hi, my name is Jessica and I've been with Tesco Diets for 3 years now. I generally eat a healthy diet, but I am human and we all have our downfalls, mine is chocolate! Im not the best person at exercising; I've never been the sportiest of people. However, I bought a Wii recently, which has really helped to increase my exercise and I found I actually really enjoy it, which is great!
I'm currently working full time here at Tesco Diets which I love, as it is so rewarding to help all of our members with their weight loss goals and reaching their target. But I am looking to go back to college in September, to do social studies.
Jennifer Roche
Hi my name is Jennifer and I'm a mother of two and have been working with Tesco Diets for just under a year. In that time, I have learnt that the best way to lose weight is to eat a healthy and balanced diet, exercise regularly and drink plenty of water. I feel that I can relate to the member, as I too am prone to weight gain and know exactly what they are going through. It always makes me happy to see a member having a successful week and if they are not doing so well I enjoy helping them to get motivated again. I am always more than happy to oblige! I also hold qualifications in Holistic Massage, Aromatherapy and Indian Head Massage and have an ongoing interest in holistic health, of which, nutrition is an important part. In my spare time, I enjoy alternative music, spending time with my family and fussing over my three cats.
Tammy Walsh
Hi, my name is Tammy. I work part time in Tesco Diets. At the moment I am studying theatre/performing arts in college. This involves dance and drama, so I understand the importance of healthy eating and exercise. I also attend regular dance classes outside of college. I have been with Tesco Diets since April 2010. I look forward to helping all of our members to achieve their goal weight in the coming months and I am always happy to answer any questions they may have.
